A New Year’s Resolution Ends in Success

By Mindy Wood

Julie Thompson took one look at a photo of herself last year and decided she had to do something about

the face that stared back at her. At 235 lbs, she realized her weight was not just a number on the scales

but now an impending health threat. “I thought to myself, how did this happen and why didn’t some

one tell me I’ve been killing myself,” said Thompson. “I had to do something.”

Thompson researched a hormone supplement yielding substantial results called HCG or “Human

Chorionic Gonadotripin,” a naturally occurring hormone present during pregnancy. Using a healthy

eating plan comprised of whole foods that work naturally with HCG, people reported steady weight

loss as they detoxed their bodies, and gained the energy they needed to adopt an active lifestyle. “I saw

that picture of myself and two days later, January 15 2010 I started the program. A year later I’ve lost

78lbs and kept it off,” said Thompson.

Although the hormone is found in pregnant women, men are successful with it. “I have to tell men, ‘no

it won’t turn you into a woman,’” laughed Thompson whose husband dropped 75 lbs on the program.

The HCG method follows three phases using HCG drops and specific whole foods, though limited in

variety, accelerate the hormone’s efficacy. “Each phase lasts a minimum of 23 days or a maximum of

45 days, with breaks between phases. I knew I needed to see results quickly to stay with it so I followed

the plan to the tee and lost 34 lbs the first round. I’m have now finished the 3rd round and finally know

how to eat for permanent weight loss.”

Thrilled with the results, Thompson became a distributor last March through the only FDA approved

supplier in the U.S. and started a support group through her website. Seventy clients later, she

encourages people all over the United States and even Canada who have opted for the program. For

Thompson it’s about helping others and “Paying It Forward”. “I couldn’t keep quiet about this. I

wanted to help other people who were like me, struggling with obesity, find their journey to health.”

Support seems necessary with what Thompson says is the body’s struggle to hang on to unhealthy

sugars and processed foods that keep people obese. I call it “body bullying”. When you stop eating

unhealthy your body craves the sugar and bad foods as you detox. Sometimes you get a head ache

or don’t feel well but those signals stop in 2 to 4 days.” The eating plan is strict and because the

recommended foods accelerate HCG’s power to melt fat, cheating is sabotage. “When people don’t

cheat, they see results,” said Thompson.

Unlike the fad diets she tried that do not educate people about long term eating habits, Thompson said

she learned why she was obese and what kept her there so long. “I never bring anything into my home

that is over 5 grams of natural sugars. Before, I was eating three bags of M&M’s a day and 4 – forty-

four ounce Sprites. No wonder I was fat. You learn to eat sensibly to maintain lifelong success.”

January 22nd she will host an “HCG Social” in the downtown Masonic building for people who are

interested in learning more and hearing her story. “It’s important to me to share something that works

so others can be successful.”
